On completion of his diploma in Dentistry in 1996, Ahmed worked as a general dental practitioner for about 6 years in both hospital and practice environment. Thereafter, Ahmed completed 2 years of training in paediatric dentistry at Leeds Dental institute and was awarded a Master in Dental Sciences in Paediatric Dentistry degree (2004). This was followed by completion of a PhD degree in dentistry (2009).

Ahmed worked as a clinical tutor in Paediatric Dentistry at Leeds Dental Institute between 2008 and 2010 and completed a Certificate in Education, which awarded him a membership status of the Academy of Higher Education. He then joined University of Bristol as academic and completed his training in Orthodontics and received a doctorate degree.

He also became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and is on the Specialist Orthodontic Register. Ahmed enjoys all aspects of orthodontics and provides a high quality of care for adults and children.
