Professor D’Aiuto qualified in dentistry with honours at the Second University of Naples in 1997. He undertook his academic and clinical training in periodontology in Italy and the UK, completing a clinical PhD and a Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Periodontology at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute.
He is a specialist periodontist with extensive experience in the non-surgical and surgical management of periodontal disease. His clinical expertise includes advanced mucogingival surgery, piezo-assisted surgery, dental implant therapy, and guided bone regeneration using bone grafts and periodontal regenerative techniques.
Professor D’Aiuto previously held senior academic and clinical appointments at University College London & Hospitals, including Professor of Periodontology and Honorary Consultant in Periodontology. During this time, he contributed to postgraduate education, specialist training, and research in periodontal medicine and oral-systemic health.
