Dr Halai graduated in dentistry from King’s College London in 2010. Following this she worked as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery/ Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 3 years. She was elected a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2012.  In 2016, she then undertook a position as a Specialty Dentist in Oral Surgery at Guy’s Dental Hospital carrying out advanced oral surgical procedures alongside providing clinical supervision and teaching to dental undergraduate students.

With 12 years of oral surgery experience since graduating, Tina attained her higher specialist training qualification in Oral Surgery at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital in 2018. She is passionate about patient safety and teaching and has developed a unique form of training which has been rolled out across the wider areas within University College London Hospital. Tina is also a proficient provider of sedation and is a member of SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry). 

Tina divides her time with providing oral surgery services in private general practice alongside her NHS work.   She is able to treat patients under intravenous sedation as well as local anaesthesia.  Her high quality patient care, clear communication and proficient surgical techniques have been demonstrated through excellent patient reviews. 

Tina has also been actively involved in academic research and has published 13 articles to date. She has also presented her work nationally and internationally. Tina has been awarded 3 national prizes, the Adrian Tanner Prize for Surgery, the Royal College of Surgeons England Patient Safety Prize and the Association of British Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Oral Presentation Prize.
