Dr Zia Ud-Din
Specialist Orthodontist

GDC No.79225

Zia has a keen interest in Facial Aesthetics and endeavours to achieve ideal facial balance and proportions with his bespoke treatments – whether it be reducing a gummy smile or making a smile wider and more beautiful whilst providing ideal lip support.

A specialist orthodontist routinely works alongside the Facial Surgeons to advise the correct movements necessary to achieve the ideal aesthetic outcome and specialist orthodontists are trained specifically in this field. Zia has completed two years of Surgical training in Maxillo Facial Surgery and has routinely performed procedures as extensive as repairing fractured cheekbones and jaws and and was the treating speciality “doctor on call” for all facial injuries and especially lacerations of the face.

Zia understands the increasing need for invisible/hidden brace systems for his patients and is a registered provider of INVISALIGN aligners and the INCOGNITO and WiN hidden “lingual brace” systems

This allows him to be able to make the most informed decision when providing treatment for children or adults. Zia believes that orthodontic treatment should only ever be done once and holds a strong philosophy of retention to ensure his patients keep their lovely straight smile forever.

Zia graduated from the University of Manchester in 2001. He then undertook several training posts including Oral Maxillo-Facial Surgery and Paediatric Dentistry, which provide a fantastic grounding to become a Specialist Orthodontist. During this time he obtained his Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery from Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

He undertook his Specialist training in Orthodontics at Birmingham Dental Hospital and was awarded a Masters in Philosophy and obtained his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He subsequently gained entry onto the General Dental Councils Specialist list for orthodontics.

As a further recognition of his clinical expertise he was awarded a highly prestigious British Orthodontic Society Prize for excellence of his treated cases.

Away from work he’s kept busy with his young family and, when they let him – he plays at restoring classic cars!
